The return of Aaron Rodgers remains a big question mark, but he himself feels like he could make an impact this season.

Rodgers on Tuesday appeared ready to return.

“If I have a great week this week and next week, that could be accelerated,” he said on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “If we’re not in it in three or four weeks, that could take it a different way. But I expect us to be in it and I expect to come back.”

Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury in the first game of the season. Since his surgery, he’s made a remarkable recovery in hopes of making a return to the gridiron.

While he believes he can return, multiple conflicting reports say otherwise. There’s a chance he won’t be able to return until 2024 OTAs according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

“For Rodgers to come back in 2023, it likely would have to happen by Week 15 at the latest, against the Commanders. And the Jets would have to be 7-7 or 8-6 at that point, since 10 games likely will be needed to get to the postseason,” Florio wrote.

The Jets currently are 4-5 and sit in third place in the AFC East. Rodgers knows the offensive has seen its fair share of struggles.

“Yeah, I see it,” Rodgers said. “I won MVP twice in the same offense, so I’m a believer. I’m a believer in the offense. There are a lot of positions, you have to play better. But, yeah, it’s easy right now to throw it at the usual suspects, Zach [Wilson] and Nathaniel [Hackett], but there’s a lot of positions that need to play better.”

Rodgers said he plans to join the Jets on a full-time basis soon.
