We’ve known for quite a while that Aaron Rodgers was playing with a broken thumb after he seemed off for most of the year, but with news that Rodgers’ injury was worse than previously reported and after he left Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles early with an injury, it put Rodgers’ status for this weekend’s game against the Chicago Bears very much in question. But it looks like Rodgers will play.

During an appearance on the Pat McAfee show, Aaron Rodgers revealed that he got “good news” and expects to play this week against the Chicago Bears.

“I got good news with the scans yesterday, so I plan on playing this week,” Rodgers said on the show, according to Rob Demovsky. “I might miss practice Wednesday but that’s been the standard for the last six, seven weeks [and] go to one of my favorite places to play, Chicago, get a big win, get into the bye week and get healthy.”

It’s massive news for the former NFL MVP and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter, many of whom had some pretty unkind words to Rodgers.

Rodgers has previously said, “as long as we’re mathematically alive [for the playoffs], I’d like to be out there.” It appears that he’s keeping his word.
