Aaron Rodgers didn’t return to the field fully this season with the Jets after suffering a torn Achilles in the first game. He still contributed to the team by offering his advice as a pseudo-coach.
The team finished the season with a 7-10 record.
His assistance helped so much, that he was voted most inspirational on the team amongst his teammates.
As far as his next form of business now that he continues his rehabilitation, he has his sights set on 2024.
“If you want to be a winning organization and put yourself in a position to win championships and be competitive, everything that you do matters,” Rodgers told reporters Monday. “The ——– that has nothing to do with winning needs to get out of the building. That will be the focus moving forward.”
Rodgers’ return to the roster stirred some controversy. He assumed he would be landing on the injured reserve list, but being on the active roster meant someone would be cut.
It wasn’t his decision, he later admitted.
“I assumed I was going to go on IR,” Rodgers said during one of his appearances on The Pat McAfee Show. “I asked to be put on IR, but then there was a conversation, ‘Do you want to practice?’ I said not at the expense of somebody getting cut. I know how this works.”
His return from the injury was miraculous to say the least and it would appear next season will be the season for him.
