On Monday night, New York Jets fans were hit with some completely shocking news when future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with what appears to be a season-ending Achilles injury on just his first drive with his new team. But in a shocking turn of events, it doesn’t sound like Rodgers is ruling out the possibility of returning to play this season.

On Friday afternoon, Aaron Rodgers joined the Pat McAfee Show where he got pretty honest about his injury, his surgery, and his recovery. During his appearance on the show, Rodgers was asked about his return timeline.

“We’ll see what happens. There’s certain markers we got to hit,” Rodgers said before McAfee and co-host A.J. Hawk cut him off and asked for clarification.

“You’re trying to say you’re coming back *this season*?” Hawk asked.

“Yeah, you coming back for the playoffs this year?” McAfee chimed in.

Rodgers didn’t immediately provide a clear answer.

“I’m not gonna make any of those statements,” Rodgers said initially. “I don’t think that’s fair to myself.”

But when asked if he thought it was even a possibility, Rodgers certainly didn’t rule it out.

“I think, as Kevin Garnett said, ‘Anything’s possible,'” Rodgers said on the show.

This is obviously an insane update, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

We’ll have to see whether or not this turns out to be a real possibility.
