Watching the Tonys on Sunday, actor Josh Gad couldn't help but wonder why Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was sitting in the third row. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was at the Tony Awards on Sunday.

Sunday night marked the 76th annual Tony Awards. Much like the Emmys honor great television, the Grammys honor music and the Oscars honor movies, the Tonys honor Broadway’s best. With that, some of the best stage actors in the world gathered in New York’s United Palace. Joining them was Aaron Rodgers, the new quarterback of the New York Jets.

Rodgers and teammate C. J. Uzomah were seen in the crowd with prime seats, to boot. That caught the attention of actor Josh Gad.

Gad, who was nominated for a Tony in 2011 for his role in The Book of Mormon, didn’t seem to fully understand why Rodgers was sitting in the third row.

“Aaron Rodgers sitting in the third row of the Tony Awards is the equivalent of me sitting in the third row at the ESPYS,” Gad tweeted.

Gad was not the only person wondering why Rodgers was sitting in prime seats on Broadway’s biggest night.

We can only hope that someone in charge of tickets sees Gad’s tweet and decides to right this wrong. Because in all truth, Mr. Gad has a point.

The ESPY Awards are on Wednesday, July 12. And in the interest of fairness, Gad should at least be offered the same prime seats that Rodgers got on Sunday night.
