Aaron Rodgers VP

NFL fans and insiders were just as astonished as political analysts by Tuesday’s report that Aaron Rodgers has talked with independent 2024 presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about running as VP on his ticket.

At least one person was apparently not surprised at all, after literally predicting that might happen in a tweet he posted in … April 2023.

The New York Times reported Tuesday that RFK Jr. had approached both Rodgers and former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura about joining his ticket as running mate. The report noted that the candidate had been speaking with Rodgers “pretty continuously” for the past month.

No one could have seen that coming, right? Well, except for Kyle Fellows, who is co-host of the PackADay Podcast, all about the Green Bay Packers. On April 25, 2023, the day after the Packers traded the veteran quarterback to the New York Jets, Fellows tweeted, “Jets fans gonna be big mad when Rodgers doesn’t play in 2024 so he can be Robert Kennedy’s running mate.”

The comment was surely made in jest, but had some factual context. Both RFK Jr. and Rodgers are noted Covid vaccine opponents, so they have that in common. As far as political experience, Rodgers is … well he’s a four-time NFL MVP.

It didn’t take long before the NFL world discovered Fellows’ prediction.

Fellows dealt with his sudden viral fame by cracking a joke: “My wife has requested that next time I use my powers on something useful.”
