Last week, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton caused quite a frenzy in the NFL world when he claimed last Denver Broncos season under head coach Nathaniel Hackett, who is now the New York Jets offensive coordinator, “might have been one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL.” And some Jets players aren’t happy about it.

This week, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers told Sean Payton to keep Hackett’s name out of his mouth, and Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard echoed those comments.

“Hackett is the best teacher I’ve ever had in my life,” Lazard said according to Antwan Staley of the New York Daily News. “His personality, his style of teaching, coaching, his vulnerability just to be himself, I think it’s very powerful and it speaks to high regard of him being comfortable with himself.

“I think what Aaron said spoke for everyone here. At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We have bigger things to worry about than people worry about our offensive coordinator.”

It’s safe to say that the Week Six matchup between these two teams is now a lot more compelling than it was previously.
