It’s been quite a long time since the Detroit Lions had high expectations heading into an NFL season. But that’s changed this offseason, and it sounds like Lions star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is pleased about it.

During a recent interview, Amon-Ra St. Brown made it clear that he’s not shying away from the pressure that comes along with the high expectations. In fact, he’s doing the opposite – he’s embracing it.

“My rookie year, we went 3-13-1, [Lions fans] were still there for us ,” St. Brown said according to Gilbert Manzano of SI.com. “And now the hype is crazy. When I go back for OTAs and whatnot, you go to the grocery store, you go to the restaurant, whatever you’re doing that day. If a fan sees you, they’re super excited. They have big expectations, but I feel like no matter what, they’re always going to be there for us. That’s something, as a player, I really appreciate, because there’s definitely those bandwagon fans that you see with the big teams that win a lot.”

It’s definitely a change of pace for Lions fans and the team compared to what they’re used to. We’ll see how the team is able to respond when the season starts.
