During Sunday afternoon’s win over the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney made yet another brutal mistake when he dropped a pass while wide open, bobbling it into the air and allowing the Patriots to intercept the pass deep in New England territory. It’s another mark against Toney after a series of mistakes, but it doesn’t sound like head coach Andy Reid is ready to give up on him just yet.

During a press conference this week, Andy Reid defended Kadarius Toney a little bit, pointing out that the wide receiver is still young and is still quite talented.

“We’ll see how things go. I’m not down on Toney,” Reid said in his press conference. “He does some good things, man, so we’ve just got to keep — he’s a young guy, so we’re not talking about somebody that has been in this league a long time.”

Following the interception, quarterback Patrick Mahomes could be seen visibly frustrated on the sideline after yet another mistake from the young receiver. So while Reid may still have patience for Toney, it looks like that patience could be wearing thin throughout the rest of the team.

We’ll have to see what Toney’s future with the team looks like.
