Going into the 2023 NFL season, talk still remains about what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look like without Tom Brady.
Despite Brady saying over and over again that he is done with football, some still think he will make a comeback.
Even one of his former teammates said recently he still thinks that Brady might try to make another comeback.
Antonino Winfield Jr. said he thinks the team is still in contact with Brady and is trying to get him to come back he said on Richard Sherman’s podcast.
“I’m sure we’re still reaching out to him trying to see if he’s trying to come back to the team,” Winfield Jr. said. “Hey, it could happen. Anything’s possible.”
Even when Brady was with the Bucs, the team still struggled to make the playoffs and win their division but they had a better chance of winning with him than without him.
But the Buc’s lack of confidence in their new starting quarterback doesn’t seem to bother Baker Mayfield who is expected to start for Brady this season.
Mayfield had this to say to doubters who think his team can’t win without Brady.
“Obviously, Tom Brady, greatest quarterback of all time; everybody talks about that,” Mayfield said. “But that only makes our veterans that were a part of the Super Bowl run even more pissed off and hungry. Because they’re like, ‘Well, we’re a part of it, too.’”
It will be interesting to see if the Bucs can overcome losing Brady.
