The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a chance to clinch the NFC South divisional title at home this weekend with a win over the Atlanta Falcons, and it sounds like it would mean a lot for the team and starting quarterback Baker Mayfield.

During a press conference this week, Baker Mayfield made it clear that it would mean “a ton” if the team were able to clinch the NFC South title this weekend in front of the home fans.

“The things we’ve had to do and go through to get to this point — it means quite a bit when you look at having to rattle off this many in a row and having to do it again at home,” Mayfield said according to Pro Football Talk. “It’s a great opportunity for us and just the beginning of where we eventually want to get to.”

Mayfield had a very tall task this season of replacing future first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, but he’s performed quite well, playing the best football of his career to lead the Buccaneers to a likely playoff berth.

We’ll have to see if Mayfield can keep up the strong play during the team’s run through the postseason.
