The Baltimore Ravens have spent the past several years in a contract dispute with star quarterback Lamar Jackson. And just as they came to terms with Jackson, it seems like another disgruntled star player has emerged: running back J.K. Dobbins.

Though J.K. Dobbins did report to the team’s camp to avoid a fine, he has yet to actually participate in practice as he seeks a new contract that will pay him more than his rookie deal. But it sounds like head coach John Harbaugh does not expect this situation to last long.

“The ball is in J.K.’s court,” Harbaugh said according to Pro Football Talk. “We have talked. We talked again yesterday. We had a great conversation. I do expect him back very soon, but I don’t have anything to say about it. It’s up to J.K., so hopefully that will happen soon.”

Harbaugh thinks that Dobbins knows the importance of practice and will be back with the team shortly.

“Generally speaking, to be a great player, you know you need to put in the time and the effort and just get with the team and get right,” Harbaugh said. “[J.K. Dobbins] wants to do that in his case, and that’s why I kind of expect him back here pretty soon.”

We’ll have to see what happens, but the longer he’s away from the team, the more concerning this situation gets.
