Josh Johnson’s long and wild NFL career continues as the Baltimore Ravens have re-signed the veteran quarterback a day after releasing him to meet roster requirements.

Johnson, cornerback Kevon Seymour, and defensive lineman Brent Urban all re-signed with the team after several players went on injured reserve.

Johnson is well-traveled around the NFL. Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he has suited up one way or another for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, 49ers, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Detroit Lions, and Denver Broncos.

Johnson is currently in his third stint with the Ravens, having previously been on their roster in 2016 and 2021.

The signal-caller made waves last season when he was thrust into the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles after Brock Purdy was injured. Johnson unfortunately left the game as well after sustaining a concussion and the 49ers lost the game.

Johnson could not only find himself back on the roster but back on the field this weekend. Johnson might be the Ravens’ No. 2 quarterback if Tyler Huntley can’t go as he deals with a hamstring injury.
