Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow Syndication: The Enquirer

The Cincinnati Bengals are looking to avoid an 0-3 start to begin the season ahead of their Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Luckily, they received a positive update regarding star quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow tweaked his right calf in the Bengals Week 2 loss against the Baltimore Ravens. For the majority of this week, he has been limited at practice, leaving him questionable for Monday’s game.

A report emerged on Monday morning that suggested Burrow would be able to play. According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Burrow went through a morning workout, and there is “optimism” that he will play.

It took some time for the Bengals to officially make their decision on Burrow. But they did ultimately rule him active for Monday’s game against the Rams.

Given his injury that he has likely not recovered from, fans questioned just how healthy he is for this matchup against the Rams.

It’s certainly a rough predicament for the Bengals to be in. On one hand, the Bengals certainly need to win this game. History says that teams who start 0-3 to begin the year have a very low chance of making the postseason.

On the other hand, the Bengals just made Burrow one of the highest-paid players in all of football, and risking further injury by having him play on Monday night seems like a recipe for disaster.

Now that he is officially active for the game, there has to be at least some concern from Bengals fans regarding whether Burrow can make it through this game without any further injury.
