It’s no secret that A-list actor Matthew McConaughey is a massive Texas Longhorns football fan. But as it turns out, he might be closer with one Longhorns star than anybody ever realized.
In a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee show, former Texas running back Bijan Robinson revealed that he has a very close relationship with Matthew McConaughey, calling him “a big brother to me.”
“That dude, he’s amazing man, I mean he’s such a big brother to me. And even when I go to his house and meet his family and chill we’ll do certain things,” Robinson said on the show according to On3.
Robinson was then asked to describe his hangouts with McConaughey, and he set the scene a little bit.
“In the middle of the house, good view, the window you can see all of West Lake out there. But we’re just talking about life, he’ll give me snip bits of how he became such a good actor. But yeah man, he’s been supporting me since I first stepped foot on campus and ever since then our relationship just kept growing and growing,” Robinson said. “So it’s pretty cool to have him.”
It’s definitely a surprising friendship, but it makes sense given McConaughey’s ties to the team.
