Bill Belichick Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

Bill Belichick was unable to find another head coaching job this offseason after parting ways with the New England Patriots following the 2023-24 NFL season. But it sounds like he is expected to return to coaching next offseason. In fact, in a pretty shocking twist, it sounds like teams are already reaching out to him about potentially hiring him next offseason.

According to a report from Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network on Sunday afternoon, “multiple owners” have already reached out to Bill Belichick regarding potential job opening’s next year.

“Belichick does want to continue to coach. The expectation right now within the NFL is Belichick is coaching somewhere come 2025,” Pelissero said on Sunday. “In fact, I am told shortly after the Falcons opted to hire Raheem Morris over Belichick several weeks ago, multiple owners reached out to Belichick about next year’s hiring cycle.”

“He is 15 wins shy of breaking Don Shula’s all-time wins record including the playoffs. He is motivated to get that record. Bill Belichick will be 73 years old before the 2025 season begins and this is going to be one of the big storylines over the next couple of years,” Pelissero said.

Obviously, this is pretty shocking news considering any team who could have been reaching out to him currently has a different head coach, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have lots see where Belichick ends up next year.
