The NFL world is abuzz over another stirring performance from Brock Purdy.

Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft showed out on Saturday. The Niners‘ third-string QB, thrust into the position after injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, looked sharp after a skittish start to the game. He turned around and led the Niners to a blowout Wild Card round victory over rival Seattle.

CBS Sports noted a remarkable accomplishment Purdy set during the game. “Brock Purdy is the first rookie QB with 2+ passing and 1+ rushing TDs in their postseason debut,” they tweeted. So Purdy not only led his team to victory, he achieved NFL history as well.

The NFL further tacked on. “The first rookie QB with 4 total TDs in a playoff game: Brock Purdy,” they tweeted. What a performance!

Next Gen Stats provided fascinating context for one of Purdy’s touchdown throws. Purdy escaped and threw a TD to running back Elijah Mitchell late in the third quarter. They noted that it was the second-most open TD pass this season in the NFL. The mark? A whopping 16.2 yards!

The 49ers’ team account was over the moon with their QB’s performance during the game.

Steve Wyche noted that one of his teammates made a bold proclamation. Wyche tweeted, “High praise: 49ers LB Fred Warner says QB Brock Purdy is the reason why San Francisco can go all the way.”

Seattle writers even praised Brock Purdy and his monster performance. Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times tweeted, “Purdy with a pretty veteran play there to escape the rush and then find a wide open Mitchell.”

Fellow Seahawks reporter Michael-Shawn Dugar commended Purdy, calling him a “gamer.”

NFL Network reporter Bridget Condon gave him praise as well. Condon tweeted, “Safe to say Brock Purdy is once again not phased at all by the big stage.”

Zach Mullis tweeted something hilarious. “Brock Purdy kinda reminds me of a young Stetson Bennett,” they joked.

FS1’s outspoken Nick Wright provided additional context that made Purdy’s performance look strong. He tweeted, “Brock Purdy now has as many career playoff touchdowns (4) as Jimmy Garoppolo.”

And, NBA megastar LeBron James tweeted, “PURDY GOT GAME!!!!!!!!!” Good thing ‘Bron isn’t a Cowboys fan anymore.
