Even though Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young might be one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL Draft this year, there are plenty of concerns about his size and durability. But that’s not stopping ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay from predicting him to be the No. 1 overall pick in April.

Todd McShay is predicting that Bryce Young will be selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts, who he thinks will acquire the top pick from the Chicago Bears via a trade – as Colts owner Jim Irsay may have accidentally leaked. And he explained his analysis of Young during an appearance on Get Up on Wednesday morning.

“I think he’s special, and listen, he’s undersized,” Todd McShay said. “That’s gonna be the whole conversation leading up to the draft.”

McShay said that Young is attempting to put on weight ahead of the draft and that he expects him to reach 200 pounds. But aside from the size and durability concerns, McShay thinks he’s a special player.

“So, the biggest concern is can he stay durable and healthy throughout his career. But, I think he’s a smaller version of Patrick Mahomes. The presence he has in the pocket, the ability to feel pressure coming, the ability to see the whole field and make all the throws with really good touch and timing. He’s different than all these other guys,” McShay said.

“I sit here and I watch tape over and over again. Will Levis has a great arm. Anthony Richardson is the most physically talented. CJ Stroud had an unbelievable career at Ohio State. But, Bryce Young is different.”

We’ll have to see if McShay’s bold prediction comes true.
