On Friday, Bryce Young took the field for the first time as a member of the Carolina Panthers.

Young, the top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, took the field at rookie minicamp. The Panther QB drew lots of attention for his first official day on the job as he made his first moves with the team.

Steve Reed of the Associated Press documented Young’s first snap with the Panthers. Young took it in stride, rolled right, and threw an easy pass away and out of view of the camera shot.

New Panthers head coach Frank Reich was ready to praise his new quarterback after the minicamp session. He spoke glowingly and then said he looked the part and that he threw the football “exceedingly” well.

Young starred at the University of Alabama before he arrived in Carolina. He threw for nearly 5,000 yards in 2021 with 47 touchdowns and seven interceptions on a Crimson Tide team that made the CFB Playoff Final. Young followed that up with a 32-touchdown, 3,328-yard season in 2022.

The NFL world reacted to the Bryce Young news.

As he proceeds with his NFL career, much will be made of Bryce Young and his size. But it seems like his first day at the office couldn’t improve. We’ll see now how his playing career plays out.
