The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got a huge win on Sunday night over the Arizona Cardinals to keep their playoff hopes alive in the NFC. However, an admission from Buccaneers star running back Leonard Fournette after the game on social media may have put a damper on what otherwise was a terrific Christmas for Tampa fans.

Fournette took to social media with a tweet that has since been deleted to blast his critics, revealing that he is playing with a Lisfranc injury in his foot.

“I hate when people be on here just talking saying I’m out of shape etc. Do y’all understand I’m playing with a Lisfranc in my foot every week. Can barely push off my foot but through the Grace of God I’m going to keep proving y’all wrong,” tweeted Fournette via Sports Medicine Physician Jesse Morse on Twitter.

If this admission from Fournette is true, it is certainly impressive that he was able to give such an excellent performance in Sunday’s game against Arizona. The veteran running back played a crucial role in their win, putting up 162 total scrimmage yards in the matchup.

Many around the NFL world took to social media to praise him for his impressive performance considering the circumstances.

“Gutsy performance last night by Leonard Fournette who reveals he’s been dealing with a Lisfranc injury,” tweeted Kenny Morales of Spectrum Bay News.

“God got you,” tweeted former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III in response to Fournette’s now-deleted tweet.

It seems like Leonard Fournette has no plans to sit out despite a foot injury that typically results in some significant time missed, which the Buccaneers surely appreciate as they push toward a potential playoff birth next week.
