The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were obviously going to see a bit of a drop-off in production on the offensive side of the ball following the departure of future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, but it’s safe to say they expected a bit stronger of a performance than what they’ve shown so far this season.

Throughout the team’s first six games of the season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have yet to score more than 30 points in a single game. While wide receiver Chris Godwin doesn’t necessarily know what is causing those struggles, he acknowledges that the team has to perform better.

“That’s a great question,” Godwin said according to Pro Football Talk. “I’m not exactly sure what needs to change. We’ve just got to be better.

“You know, we’re not doing a good enough job scoring in the red zone. That’s a crucial area for us. Like you said, we did a better job of getting some explosives, but you know, it didn’t turn into many points. When the defense gives up 13, 16 points, as an offense you expect to put up more than that. And we didn’t do that, so we have to be way better.”

The Buccaneers are in for quite a challenge this week as they’re set to take on the Buffalo Bills and their strong secondary on a short week, playing on Thursday night. We’ll have to see how the offense performs.
