Following the conclusion of his NFL career in 2012, Chad Johnson has tried his hand as a soccer player, bull rider, boxer, and Twitch streamer. But this weekend, he’s taking on a whole new role as a celebrity judge with one of the most unique extreme sports in existence: Red Bull Flugtag.

Red Bull Flugtag is certainly wacky, but it’s rather simple. The event requires teams to build a homemade, human-powered aircraft, then one member of each team launches that craft off of a 27-foot-tall elevated platform and into a body of water. Teams are then judged on the creativity of their craft design, their performance, as well as the distance of their flight.

And this year, Cincinnati Bengals legend Chad Johnson will be one of those judges.

Johnson is one of five celebrity judges at the event along with three-time Olympic skier Nick Goepper, Cincinnati-based drag queen Jessica Dimon, TikTok personality Cale Saurage, and social media personality Chloe Pavlech.

The free event will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio – where Johnson made his fame with the Bengals – at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 12 at Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman’s Cove.

ESPN2 will broadcast a replay of Red Bull Flugtag Cincinnati on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 6 – 7 p.m. ET. Outside the home, Red Bull Flugtag will stream live exclusively in restaurants, bars, and other businesses via the Red Bull TV channel on Atmosphere. Atmosphere is the largest streaming TV platform for businesses, available in over 60,000 venues worldwide and reaching over 120 million viewers per month.

In addition, fans can now go to RedBull.com/FlugtagCincinnati to vote for the People’s Choice Award, presented by T-Mobile, given to the favorite craft. The award will be announced at the conclusion of the event.
