The Los Angeles Chargers impressed in a big way on Sunday night, getting a huge win over the Miami Dolphins. They received even more great news when head coach Brandon Staley gave a shocking update on Pro Bowl offensive tackle Rashawn Slater.

Slater suffered a devastating bicep earlier this year, but Staley revealed that there is “definitely a chance” that he could return for the Chargers this year, according to The Athletic’s Daniel Popper.

This would certainly be a huge return for the Chargers that could drastically help them down the stretch this year. Slater broke into the NFL in his rookie season in a big way, being named to the Pro Bowl along with an All-Pro Second Team appearance last year.

This terrific update on Slater could not have come at a better time for Los Angeles, who is sitting firmly in the thick of the playoff picture in the AFC with a 7-6 record on the year.

Considering Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is coming off likely his best game of the season on Sunday against Miami, he could certainly continue his success if Rashawn Slater is set to return soon.

We still don’t have an exact target date for a potential return for the second-year offensive lineman, but this is undoubtedly promising for the team moving forward.

In the meantime the Chargers will look ahead to another tough test this weekend against the Tennessee Titans.
