As the Los Angeles Chargers get ready to watch their fellow AFC West foe the Kansas City Chiefs look to win a second consecutive Super Bowl, LA’s attention has turned to next season, and for good reason.

On January 24, the Chargers hired former University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh to their head coaching position, bringing Harbaugh back to the NFL after nine seasons at his alma mater, the final three of which included three Big Ten Championships, three College Football Playoff appearances, and the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship.

Between Harbaugh’s success at Michigan combined with his success with the San Francisco 49ers, whom he coached to three straight NFC Championships and one Super Bowl from 2011-14, it’s easy to see why the Chargers have completely bought into their new coach.

While Harbaugh has yet to be officially introduced in a formal press conference setting, he’s been in the public eye since the announcement. Before Sunday’s AFC Championship between the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, coached by Harbaugh’s brother John, the new Chargers stopped by the NFL on CBS pregame show to visit with the panelists and discuss his offseason so far.

Then, on Monday, the Chargers tweeted a short video featuring  some clips and quotes from Harbaugh, inter-spliced with highlights from his time as quarterback for the Chargers, a role he held for the final two seasons of his career.

“I know the football universe is big, but it’s really not that big,” Harbaugh said before the video cut to him in a Chargers uniform.  “Every job I’ve taken in coaching, there was a connection there for me. Coming back to the Chargers, the sincerity was there. It just felt like home when I came here,” he added.

“We’re going to attack them with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. This is where I want to be, nowhere else,” Harbaugh said to close out the video.
