All of the happiness from the Chiefs Super Bowl victory this past Sunday quickly turned to tragedy when a public shooting at the team’s Super Bowl parade on Wednesday resulted in the death of one woman along with 22 injured victims.
Eight of the victims injured unfortunately happened to be children, who are thankfully all expected to make a full recovery. And on a brighter note, the children were visited by Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes.

It’s obviously incredibly saddening that these innocent children were ever even in this situation in the first place. And even a picture with their hero in Mahomes likely won’t take away the emotional and psychological scars from this scary incident.
That being said, it is great to see Mahomes visit these children and at least help them take their minds off of the incident for a moment. And many fans praised Mahomes for this incredibly classy gesture on Friday.
Man this picture makes me so upset. The fact that so many of the victims were kids who now have to bear the trauma and scars for life is awful. Respect to the Mahomes family and all of the Chiefs being stand up people

Very beautiful of the mahomes family , but seriously can't believe they had to even make these visits while everyone was just trying to celebrate

God bless these 2 🙏. They’ll never truly understand what this act means to the families.

Mahomes’ act is not the only kind act from Chiefs Kingdom towards the shooting victims. Pop music icon and notable Chiefs fan/significant other of Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift also donated $100,000 to the family of local radio DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the woman to tragically passed in the shooting.
It certainly speaks to the character of both Mahomes and Swift to give back to the Chiefs fanbase during this extremely difficult time.
