San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has been nothing short of incredible since being traded to the team from the Carolina Panthers early in the 2022 NFL season.

McCaffrey recently tied the NFL record for most consecutive games with a touchdown scored, finding the end zone in 17 straight games (regular season and postseason), scoring in every single game he played with the 49ers until being held out of the end zone in San Francisco’s Week 10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Naturally, McCaffrey’s streak led to the seven-year veteran racking up touchdowns and moving up the 49ers’ single-season leaderboard.

In the first half of Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, McCaffrey found the end zone twice with a pair of rushing touchdowns.

The second rushing touchdown, McCaffrey’s 11th of the season, set the new 49ers single-season record for rushing touchdowns in one season.

The previous record of 10 in a season was shared by Joe Perry (1953), J.D. Smith (1959), Billy Kilmer (1961), Ricky Watters (1993), Derek Loville (1995), and Frank Gore (2009).

McCaffrey is now tied with Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert for most touchdowns in the NFL this season with 11.

With no clear favorite for NFL MVP at this point in the season, McCaffrey seems like he’ll have a chance to be the first running back to win MVP since Adrian Peterson in 2012.
