There was a lot of celebration in Green Bay on Christmas. The Packers won 26-20 over the Miami Dolphins, a win that improved their playoff chances exponentially. While a key contributor left the game due to injury, it sounds like that contributor won’t be gone for too long.

Packers wide receiver Christian Watson, who’s turned into a touchdown machine of late, left Sunday’s game due to a hip injury. After the game though, Watson seemed optimistic that he wouldn’t miss much time. The former North Dakota State receiver assured Packers fans that he’s going to be fine.

Green Bay writer Ryan Wood tweeted, “Caught up with Christian Watson as he was leaving the locker room. He told me his hip was OK. ‘I’ll be all right,’ he said.”

Wood added that it’s a long week, of course, and “tomorrow is a new day.” But it doesn’t sound like Watson is too concerned this will be a long-term issue from Wood’s tweet.

The Packers have seen their second-round pick in 2022 emerge into a talented player in his rookie season. He has seven touchdowns in his last six games, although he’s gone touchdown-less in his last two efforts.

Aaron Rodgers will need all the weaponry he can have if Green Bay wants to make a serious playoff push. Especially considering that Justin Jefferson and the NFC North Champion Minnesota Vikings roll into town next week.
