The Cleveland Browns are locked into the fifth seed in the upcoming NFL playoffs regardless of whether they win, lose or tie in this week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. As a result, it sounds like they could be planning to rest some of their player in the game.

During a press conference this week, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski made it clear that the team will do whatever is in the team’s “best interest” when it comes to whether or not to rest key starters in this week’s game to protect them from injury.

“You’re just trying to make what’s in the best interest of your football team, whether you play your guys, rest your guys, and as you know, you can’t rest everybody,” Stefanski said according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “There are roster limitations to that. We took care of business last week, but we have to finish strong. That’s our mentality, that’s what we’re trying to do.”

The most notable decision will be regarding starting quarterback Joe Flacco. During his press conference, Stefanski said he will consult with Flacco to decide whether or not he will play in the final game of the regular season.
