This week, most Americans will be celebrating Christmas by giving gifts to their loved ones. But apparently, that is not the case for former NFL superstar Colin Kaepernick.
This week, Kaepernick’s girlfriend Nessa was on her podcast discussing the Christmas season and buying gifts from their partners. Kaepernick joined the conversation via a phone call with Nessa, and when Nessa’s co-host Katrina asked him what he got Nessa for Christmas this season, he had a pretty shocking response to the question.
“Colin, I have a question. What are you giving Nessa for Christmas?” Katrina asked.
“We don’t celebrate Christmas,” Kaepernick replied immediately.
“So let’s just can the whole episode then,” Katrina joked.

Nessa went on to reveal that not only do they not celebrate Christmas, but they don’t even give any gifts to each other at all.
“I’ll tell you what, we don’t give each other gifts. I think for Colin and I we just enjoy really great experiences with each other year round,” Nessa said.
It’s certainly a shocking bit of news about the former NFL quarterback and it led to a lot of chatter on social media.

The comments on Nessa’s post had a lot to say about it, as well.
“Oh he cheap,” one commenter said.
“As long as you both agree to it, it’s fine. If it’s just one person saying no while the other person wants to, that’s a problem,” another person said.
“Its a fake holiday anyways,” another person said.
Kaepernick is certainly in the minority of Americans who don’t celebrate Christmas or give gifts, but it’s clear that it works for their relationship.
