The NFL’s free agent frenzy continues to get crazier, and without any official news until 4 P.M., wild speculation is the name of the game. Some of the wildest speculation revolves around the now vacant Broncos QB position.

It was widely assumed that Brock Osweiler would return to Denver to be Peyton Manning’s direct replacement, however the negotiations between the QB and the team have apparently been frosty. Now, the media is linking the Broncos with potential replacements.

Kaepernick has asked to be traded from the 49ers, and is readily available for anyone who would want him – though the 49ers won’t be cutting him. Osweiler’s other possible mooted destination has been the Texans (who also had interest in Kaepernick), but there hasn’t been any sign of concrete negotiations between those two parties.

The QB carousel this offseason has been as crowded as it has ever been, with multiple teams suddenly QB needy, and plenty of decent names available on the market. Combine that with the defending Super Bowl champions put in the awkward of having their starter retire and presumed heir apparent not under contract for 2016, it’s not surprising that possible scenarios like the one above are being mooted.

Let’s get weird.
