With a 38-10 road win over the Washington Commanders last week, the Dallas Cowboys earned the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff bracket, ensuring that they will have home-field advantage in the first two games of the playoffs. And for a team that’s thrived so much at home this year, that’s a big deal.

The Dallas Cowboys have won 16 straight games at AT&T Stadium heading into the postseason, and quarterback Dak Prescott acknowledges just how much of a benefit it is to be able to play the first two games of the playoffs in their home stadium, but said the team still has to prepare well.

“It’s huge — the atmosphere the Cowboys’ fans have created these last two years,” Prescott said according to the Dallas Cowboys team website. “I can you [tell] this: we can’t lean on that. We’ve got to lean on our preparation. We’ve got to commit to studying these guys, executing and playing our very best; and playing to our standard.”

Of course, if the Cowboys are going to make a run at the Super Bowl, they will have to win two games away from home – a true road game in the NFC title game and a neutral site game in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl. But they’ll at least have two home games to get to that point.
