The Denver Broncos are currently looking for a new defensive coordinator, and they may have found their man.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Broncos have requested to interview Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

“The Broncos have requested permission to speak with Cowboys DC Dan Quinn, the source said. One of their top candidates last year, one of their top candidates this year,” Rapoport tweeted.

Quinn started his coaching career at William & Mary in 1994. He made the jump to the NFL in 2001 as a defensive quality control coach for the San Francisco 49ers. He earned his first defensive coordinating job with the Seattle Seahawks.

“I believe that very much. I know this, he’s staying and being our coordinator for years to come. I know that he was the busiest coordinator out here being interviewed for jobs,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan last January when Quinn signed a new extension with the franchise. “And yes, I would say that specifically. It’s a real compliment to Mike, it’s a compliment to us, it’s a compliment to the organization.”

The Cowboys hit the road to face Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in an NFC Wild Card showdown next Monday night.
