The Dallas Cowboys won’t be looking for a new defensive coordinator anytime soon.

Dan Quinn announced Thursday that he’s staying with the Cowboys and won’t pursue any head coaching vacancies that remain in the league.

“Cowboys DC Dan Quinn informed interested teams that he is staying in Dallas, per sources,” Pelissaro tweeted.

“Quinn was a top candidate for the Cardinals’ head coaching job and also interviewed with the Colts and Broncos. But his heart is in Dallas and he wants to win a Super Bowl there.”

The Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos have yet to announce decisions for their coaching vacancies. The Carolina Panthers announced the hiring of former Colts coach Frank Reich, its first quarterback, when the franchise opened play in 1995, on Thursday.

Quinn started his coaching career as a defensive line coach at William & Mary. He made the jump to the NFL in 2003 as a defensive quality control coach for the San Francisco 49ers. He became the Niners’ defensive line coach two years later.

In 2011, Quinn earned his first defensive coordinating job with the Florida Gators before returning to the NFL in 2013. The Dallas Cowboys hired Quinn as defensive coordinator in 2021.
