There has not been a lot of information regarding Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin following the terrifying incident that caused him to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance and halted Monday night’s game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Bills. But one reliable source of information has been Jordon Rooney.

Rooney is a friend, business partner, and marketing representative for Damar Hamlin. He provided a crucial update on Hamlin’s situation on Monday night, and he spoke with Good Morning America to provide another update on his friend and their family on Tuesday morning.

“I can’t speak specifically on his medical condition,” Rooney told Good Morning America. “I will say that he’s fighting, he’s a fighter.”

Rooney explained that he felt he needed to offer some clarity on the situation on Monday night.

“I felt like in the moment, there needed to be some clarity. He was awake at that time, and now he’s sedated. The family is in good spirits. We’re honestly just taking it minute by minute, hour by hour.”

Rooney revealed that Hamlin is very close with his family saying they are “a tremendous group of people.”

“His family is remarkable,” Rooney said. “They are a tremendous group of people. They’re strong. They’re supportive. Obviously they’re worried. Damar is very close with his family.”
