A week after he almost lost his life and just a few days after he had awakened from a coma, Damar Hamlin has been released from the hospital and has been allowed to return to Buffalo.
Bridget Condon of the NFL Network has reported Hamlin has been allowed to go home. Doctors were just saying as late as Thursday that Hamlin was doing better but still in critical condition.

Hamlin’s recovery has been nothing short of a miracle for the 24-year-old out of Pitt. Hamlin had a heart attack on the field last Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals and had to receive CPR on the field before he was taken to a local hospital.
The NFL and its fans across the country have shown nothing but love and support to the NFL star and as seen across the league in Sunday’s game.
Condon says that Hamlin is still recovering in a hospital in Buffalo. His doctor release this statement about why he was allowed to return to Buffalo because he met a number of his milestones.
- Each organ system is stable
- He needs the minimum amount of assistance
- He no longer needs intensive respiratory therapy.
Hamlin’s condition has now been upgraded from critical to fair and good condition.
