D’Andre Swift garnered significant attention from NFL fans this past weekend. The now former Detroit Lions running back saw his team take Alabama star Jahmyr Gibbs early on in the first round. Then, the Lions dealt Swift to his hometown Philadelphia Eagles. And so, the former Georgia Bulldogs star and Philly native made his first appearance on Monday in the City of Brotherly Love since the trade.

Swift’s arrival in Philadelphia caught the eyes of several despite a Twitter blackout on Monday afternoon. The team posted a video featuring Swift going into the team’s facility for the first time.

“A Swift arrival,” the Eagles called it.

Swift has a lot of ability but has struggled with consistency and health issues. The Lions drafted him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has yet to play an entire season, going for 13, 13, and 14 games in his first three seasons. He’s recorded 1,680 yards on 364 carries, suitable for a career YPC of 4.6. He’s found the end zone 18 times, with his best mark being eight rushing touchdowns in his rookie season.

If the first test is any indication, adoration is anticipated. Swift is expected to fill the void left by Miles Sanders. Sanders left the Eagles in free agency as the former Penn State star elected to sign with the Carolina Panthers.
