It’s no real secret that the Tennessee Titans haven’t had the best of luck with veteran wide receivers in the past, but that didn’t stop them from bringing in DeAndre Hopkins this year – and it sounds like head coach Mike Vrabel is optimistic about the move.

During an appearance on Bussin’ With The Boys, Mike Vrabel was asked if there was any hesitation about bringing in DeAndre Hopkins given that veteran receivers have not always panned out too well with the Titans, like Julio Jones when he signed with the team ahead of the 2021 season. But Vrabel did not seem worried, saying he’s “confident he’ll do what we ask him to do.”

“I don’t think whatever happened in the past with another player is going to apply to this particular player,” Vrabel said on the podcast according to Pro Football Talk. “If things come up, we’ll have to work through them. We wouldn’t have signed him or wanted to sign him if we weren’t confident he’d help us.”

It remains to be seen just how much of an impact he’ll make on the team this season, but it’s clear that Vrabel is excited about the offseason addition.
