Legendary rapper Future turned heads last week when he seemingly took aim at Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, the husband of his ex-fiancée, pop icon Ciara.

Future, 39, dropped his latest single, “Turn Yo Clic Up”, featuring Quavo of the Migos. In it, Future drops a bar aimed at Wilson.

“I got it out the field / [explative] Russell,” Future said about the 34-year-old quarterback.

Wilson didn’t immediately respond to the diss. This week, however, Wilson responded by posting a picture of him playing football with his stepson, Future Zahir, on Instagram.

“Best part of the day #DadLife,” he wrote next to a photo of the two walking on a football field.

According to People magazine, Wilson praised the nine-year-old’s love of sports by “sharing a video on his Instagram Story of the two discussing his passion for basketball, football and baseball. Since Future Zahir shared during their conversation that he wanted to excel in all three sports, Wilson captioned the video, ‘If anyone can, you can!'”

In another video of Future Zahir throwing the football, Wilson wrote, “Slingin’ it on the money!”

As of Friday morning, the photo had been “liked” over 73,000 times on Instagram. Future did not immediately respond to the subtle yet clear message.
