New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr hasn’t exactly had the most dominant season with the team so far this season, and it’s led to some frustrations from the home fans as they’ve even been heard booing their starting quarterback and team amid a disappointing season. But now, Carr is responding to that frustration.
During a press conference this week, Derek Carr made it clear that he understands the frustration from the fans but also pointed out that the Saints can still accomplish all of their goals.
“I do understand that their expectations are our expectations,” Carr said. “So, their frustration, that’s the way they can show their frustration. My frustration, we show it in our way. All of our expectations were so high and our expectations still should be high. Everything is still in front of us. I keep staying this — this is the time to do it. This is the time to get hot, right now. I was on a team where this was when we got hot, and that was a great time in our stadium. There was great energy in the city. And we want to do that for our city.”
The Saints are currently 6-7, but are very much alive in the postseason race as they’re in a three-way tie atop the NFC South standings. If the Saints play well down the stretch, they’ll make the playoffs despite the disappointing performances this season.
