It hasn’t exactly been a great start for the Desmond Ridder era for the Atlanta Falcons as he has struggled to produce consistently and the offense has struggled to score, leading to plenty criticism of the second-year quarterback. But it doesn’t sound like he’s letting that criticism affect him.

During his interview session this week, Desmond Ridder was asked about the criticism he’s received this season, and he made it pretty clear that he doesn’t listen to it.

“For me, I don’t let the outside noise kind of affect me,” Ridder said in his Wednesday press conference. “I just know what I have to do every single day and that’s to improve. We talk a lot about here of the growth mindset, and for myself that’s coming in watching the film — like I said, I had eight hours to watch it on the plane, watched it twice over there, so it’s just about coming in here and getting better every single day. Not only myself but every other guy on this team getting better, so we can improve as a team.”

The Falcons have made it pretty clear that Ridder will remain the starter for the foreseeable future, so we’ll have to see if he’s able to silence those critics in the coming weeks.
