Last week, Green Bay Packers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell suffered a knee injury during the team’s loss to the Buffalo Bills and this week he watched teammate Rashan Gary suffer a knee injury against the Detroit Lions. Campbell believes one thing is to blame: artificial turf.

On Monday morning, De’Vondre Campbell posted a Tweet pushing the NFL to invest in grass fields for every team across the league.

“This is two weeks in a row we’ve had players get injured on turf fields. I think it’s time y’all take some of the money y’all make off us and invest in grass fields for every team around the league. The turf is literally like concrete it has no give when you plant,” Campbell said on Twitter before tagging the NFL’s official Twitter account in the post.

Campbell certainly isn’t the first around the league to push the NFL to reconsider its use of FieldTurf. Earlier this year, San Francisco 49ers star pass rusher Nick Bosa blasted the league for its use of artificial turf, saying “if the NFL cared about our safety at all, then we’d all play on grass like top soccer teams do.”

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll also pushed the league to reconsider its use of FieldTurf across the league, saying “we’ve got to do what’s safest for the players.”
