Dolphins rookie defensive lineman Christian Wilkins was ejected after the second play from scrimmage against the Bills for throwing a punch at Bills guard Cody Ford.

The build-up to it was fairly innocuous; the two were somewhat tangled up during the play (which resulted in in an incomplete pass), and then Wilkins pretty clearly throws a short punch at Ford. (Also, ignore the caption here, the first play was a Frank Gore run, then this incompletion that resulted in the punch.)

The Dolphins have been bad enough this season that it’s almost kind of understandable that their players are so frustrated they’re willing to do something as dumb as throwing a punch at someone wearing a helmet. Honestly, though, Wilkins gets to spend the rest of the afternoon not playing for the Dolphins, which doesn’t really sound like much of a punishment at this point.
