On Thursday morning, the Miami Dolphins and the Chicago Bears agreed to a trade that is sending wide receiver Chase Claypool to Miami in a trade that also included a swap of some late-round picks. And it sounds like Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is optimistic about the move.
During his press conference on Friday morning, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel addressed the addition of Chase Claypool, making it clear that while they weren’t necessarily looking to add wide receivers beforehand, they think Claypool can help the team going forward.
“You have to stay steadfast to the commitment of making your team as good as it could be,” McDaniel said according to Pro Football Talk. “Sometimes things come across your radar that you weren’t even looking for, but, when you assess it, if it falls under the category this has a chance to make us better then you jump on that.”
The Dolphins already have one of the most dominant receiving corps in the entire NFL headlined by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. We’ll have to see how Claypool can work into that rotation and add depth to what has been arguably the top offense in the league this season.
