The social media platform “X,” formerly known as Twitter, made the controversial decision to issue a permanent ban to then-president Donald Trump on Jan. 8th, 2021, two days after the Trump supporters stormed the nation’s capitol in an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
X owner Elon Musk, however, reversed that decision in November 2022 after buying the platform.
Trump had yet to return to Twitter despite his reinstatement—until Thursday. Hours after his arrest in Georgia for his alleged role in a scheme to reverse the results of the state’s presidential election in 2020, Trump returned to X to post his mugshot, emblazoned with the text, “ELECTION INTERFERENCE. NEVER SURRENDER.”
Trump’s only text in the post was a link to his website, DonaldJTrump.com, in an effort to fundraise off the viral event.
As of Friday afternoon, the tweet has over 190 million views according to X.com. At least one of those views belonged to Marlon Humphrey, a star cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens. Humphrey couldn’t resist the opportunity to welcome the former president back to the social media platform.

“We missed you,” Humphrey wrote. “The Toxic King is back.”
Trump, like all other Americans, is presumed innocent until proven guilty despite facing legal action in four jurisdictions throughout the country.
The NFL world was quick to react to Humphrey’s welcoming of Trump back to X:
