During this week’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night, Jacksonville Jaguars star quarterback Trevor Lawrence left the game with an ankle injury that turned out to be an ankle sprain. But Lawrence is doing everything he can to be able to play this week despite the injury, and head coach Doug Pederson thinks his efforts are inspiring to the team.

During his press conference this week, Doug Pederson had some high praise for Trevor Lawrence for his toughness and his willingness to push through and try to recover from his injury and get back on the field for his team.

“I believe when your quarterback exudes that, I think it does send a message to the rest of your team — in a good way,” Pederson said according to Pro Football Talk. “And still optimistic, obviously, for this weekend. But, again, the fact that he’s willing and able to put himself out there for his teammates and his team speaks volumes.”

The Jaguars are facing an important game against the Cleveland Browns this week as they try to keep pace in the playoff race. It’s clear that Lawrence is going to do everything that he can to be out on the field.
