There is no love lost between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles but the news that former Eagles star Jason Peters is signing with their arch nemesis is sure to kick things up a notch this season.
Given how badly the Cowboys needed help at offensive tackle after starting left tackle Tyron Smith suffered a major injury last month, it made a lot of sense to find out if Peters, a nine-time Pro Bowler who now lives in Texas, could fill that hole.
Since the 53-man rosters are already set for the 2022 NFL season, Peters will join the franchise on the practice squad, though it’s likely only a matter of time before he’s in uniform. The Cowboys visit the Eagles on October 16 so that will be one to circle if Peters is on the roster.
Peters spent 11 seasons with the Eagles but was with the Chicago Bears last season, playing in 15 games. Throughout his career, he was named first-team All-Pro twice, second-team All-Pro four times, and a Pro Bowler nine times. He was also part of the Eagles Super Bowl LII championship team.
Given that he’ll now suit up for the Eagles rival, there were some strong reactions from the Philly crowd, as you might expect.
Couple years ago Jason Peters called the whole Cowboys organization arrogant.

In 5 years will it matter that Jason Peters ended his career in Dallas? Probably not. But I get the reaction from Eagles fans after his play was so poor to close his career in Philly and then he held the team hostage for more money to move to the pos he wanted to play anyways
