The Philadelphia Eagles’ surprising exit in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs has already led to several changes to their coaching staff. And it seems like they are now looking at former NFL head coach Kliff Kingsbury to fill their offensive coordinator vacancy.

Kingsbury famously served as the head coach for the Arizona Cardinals from 2019-2022, where he had limited success which led to his removal.

Since then, he has served as a senior offensive analyst back at the collegiate level for the USC Trojans, seemingly playing a role in the development of star quarterback Caleb Williams.

It seems like his role at USC has gotten him back on the NFL radar, at least for an assistant position. Kingsbury interviewed for the vacant offensive coordinator role for the Chicago Bears last week.

The Eagles are now putting themselves in the mix to land Kingsbury. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafalo, Kingsbury interviewed for the Eagles offensive coordinator vacancy on Tuesday.

On paper, it seems like it would be a good fit for both the Eagles and Kingsbury. Kingsbury had a ton of shortcomings as a head coach in Arizona, but he was able to bring out some great play from mobile quarterback Kyler Murray during their stint together.

Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts brings a similar profile to Murray in terms of his mobility and is arguably a more polished player when he is at his best.

As for how this role could affect Kingsbury’s future if given the job, he could get back on the radar for a potential NFL head coaching gig in the future if he is able to get the Eagles offense back to an elite level as they once were.

It’s obviously no guarantee that Kingsbury even gets the job in Philadelphia. But it could be a good pairing between the two to at least keep an eye on as the Eagles interview more candidates for the position.
