If there’s one thing about rapper Eminem, he’s not afraid to take a stand. That was very much evident at the 2024 NFC Championship Game on Sunday when he showed up in San Francisco to cheer on his Detroit Lions against the 49ers.
Mind you, not everyone was exactly thrilled he was there at Levi’s Stadium. He proved that by giving Niners fans the double birds.

And naturally, the memes started immediately.

Marshall Mathers is who he says he is, and his fandom comes from growing up with his mom in a working-class Detroit neighborhood.
He made an appearance at Lions training camp in 2022 where quarterback Jared Goff was a bit starstruck. Eminem even quipped that Goff was taller than he thought. A comment that’s said quite a bit.
The Lions are one of the oldest franchises in the NFL and Slim Shady has been cheering them on for a very long time. It’s been almost 70 years since the Lions’ last NFL championship. They’ve also never made a Super Bowl appearance.
So the two middle fingers are Eminem living in the moment. He owns it and he probably doesn’t care if you’re sick of him now.
He also sported a “mom’s spaghetti” sweatshirt while in his suite:
At halftime, the Lions were up, 24-7, which means there’s a possibility of an iconic music showdown for the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game where Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce took home the trophy.
Goff also showed up to Levi’s Stadium sporting an Eminem shirt ahead of the game. Whatever helps.
