The NFL world is buzzing over a significant trade made on Thursday. The league year officially began on Wednesday, and there’s been plenty of movement ever since.

Atlanta and Arizona decided to become trade partners. The Falcons will send quarterback Desmond Ridder to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for third-year wide receiver Rondale Moore.

That trade emerged on Thursday afternoon, a NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero was among those to first report the details.

“Trade! The Cardinals are trading WR Rondale Moore to the Falcons for QB Desmond Ridder,” Pelissero said. Pelissero reported the deal on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

Ridder’s time in Atlanta ends after just two seasons. The Falcons drafted Ridder in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The expectations weren’t met, as Ridder’s first full season as a starter led him to a 6-7 record with 2,836 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He completed 64.2 percent of his 388 attempts.

A change of scenery could certainly do Ridder well. He likely won’t start with Cardinals star Kyler Murray still in red and white.

Meanwhile, Rondale Moore goes to a new team, hopefully leading to more success. He’s totaled over 1,000 career receiving yards as a solid depth piece. The Falcons are in need of another receiver opposite Drake London, so Moore could see an expanded role with his new team.

The NFL world had much to say about this move.
