Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has been one of the league’s most exciting and impactful young players so far this season.

That’s why alarm bells rang when he was active Sunday but did not record a single carry or reception in the first half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It was unlikely that Falcons coach Arthur Smith would actively refuse to use one of his best offensive players.

Shortly after halftime, Fox’s Kristina Pink provided an update on the running back. Smith said Robinson “is just not feeling all that great” and would likely not be used much if at all during the rest of the game.

The Falcons are definitely at a disadvantage without Robinson, as even if he was in the game in a decoy role, it’s still a player that Tampa’s defense has to be sure to make at all times. In addition to being the team’s leading rusher, Robinson is tied with wide receiver Drake London for the most receptions on the Falcons with 26.

So far this season, Robinson has totaled 590 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns, which both came on receptions as the rookie from Texas is still seeking his first rushing touchdown.

Falcons running backs Tyler Allgeier and Cordarrelle Patterson will likely replace Robinson for the remainder of the game.
